ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management system)
ISO 45001 is the international certification standard for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), designed to prevent workplace injuries and occupational illness and to build a safe working environment. It systematically requires risk assessment, worker participation, and incident investigation with recurrence-prevention processes.
Why it matters for Tier-2/3
Injury rates are a commonly checked item in supplier assessments across the automotive supply chain, and suppliers with a history of frequent incidents can be flagged as a transaction risk. Regardless of certification status, a Tier-2/3 supplier's top priority is building risk assessment and incident-record management.
